Explore Facebook Page Insights to discover the best time to post

Facebook updated its analytics tool, Page Insights, back in October. The new version gives users access to lots of useful data – one of the main areas of particular interest being information regarding when a page’s followers are most often online.

Facebook provides data for both the average number of your fans who saw any posts on Facebook by day of the week and the average number who saw any posts on Facebook in an hour.

With access to this information, you can adjust your Facebook strategy to schedule your posts according to when your followers are most likely to be active.

To find the ‘When Your Fans Are Online’ data, follow these step-by-step instructions:

1. After logging in to your page, click Page Insights

2. Choose the ‘Posts’ tab

3. The chart at the top shows how Facebook usage differs between days of the most recent one-week period. Hover over a day to reveal what times throughout that day users were on Facebook
